WAJAMAMA is Zanzibar’s First Holistic Health Care Center, is a women-led, social enterprise-NGO hybrid focused on health promotion and disease prevention through a holistic approach to health care. WAJAMAMA was founded in 2019 by Nafisa, a US- trained and board certified Family and Women’s health Nurse Practitioner, and Certified Nurse Midwife. 

This health care center has a simple mission, to ensure that holistic health care is made available to ALL community members, regardless of their socio-economic status. WAJAMAMA does this by providing an array of healthcare services as primary care, women’s health, and pediatric services as well as a focus on promoting physical and mental health which is provided through their Wellness Hub. 

WAJAMAMA engaged our HR services in 2022. The company wanted to make sure that their policies & procedures are all in order according to Zanzibar’s regulations. Additionally, in an effort to ensure that their employees are well versed in their rights and duties as employees of the company, they requested us to conduct a workshop with their employees to run through all employee related policies & procedures. By the end of our engagement with WAJAMAMA, we made sure that they were equipped with policies, procedures & incidence templates that are in both English and Swahili.
